Class A Nominees for Parent Election

Enikia Ford Morthel, Parent of 7th Grader and Preschooler

Enikia is an urban educator with over 14 years of experience in the public school system. A product of the independent school system, Enikia dedicates herself to transforming the education system and providing quality school options to historically underserved communities. She currently serves as the Asst. Superintendent for San Francisco Unified, serving the Bayview/Portrero Hill communities. Previously, she served as the Chief of Schools for Education for Change Public Schools, a not-for-profit Charter Management Organization focused on providing equitable access to excellent schools in Oakland, California. Enikia has been an elementary school principal for Oakland and Hayward Unified, with a track record of accelerating academic outcomes and closing the opportunity gap. Enikia has also provided strategic educational consulting services for companies like ETS, LeapFrog Schoolhouse, and Bay Area CBOs and partnered with Seneca Family of Agencies as a lead developer of the All-In Partnership which has transformed Special Education and Response to Intervention in countless schools serving communities of increased trauma. Enikia currently serves on the SFS Diversity Committee. She and her husband William have been part of the SFS community since 2008 and are parents to Jayvyn (7th Grade) and Samaiya (Preschool).  

Neal Hansch, Parent of 1st Grader and Preschooler

A native of Southern California, Neal has been living and working in San Francisco for the last twenty plus years. He is currently the CEO of Sherpa Foundry, which is a venture capital firm that works with global corporations who are seeking to navigate and engage with entrepreneurs and emerging companies across the ecosystem in Silicon Valley. Prior to joining Sherpa, Neal split his time between San Francisco and Sub-Saharan Africa, as the head of the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, which is a training, incubation and investment program that supports aspiring technology entrepreneurs on the continent. Earlier in his career, he was a venture investor at Rustic Canyon Partners, corporate development professional at Adobe and investment banker at Robertson Stephens. Neal earned his BA from Duke University, studied at University College London and received an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He currently serves as a member of The San Francisco School’s Advancement Committee and along with his wife Sandra Chang is a parent of Kate (1st Grade) and Lucas (South Class Grasshopper).

Baljeet SinghParent of Preschooler

Baljeet Singh is a Vice President of Product Management at Livongo, a health-care startup focused on improving the health of people with Diabetes. In this role he’s building products that help people with Diabetes to better manage their blood sugars. Prior to Livongo, Baljeet was the Senior Director of Product Management at Twitter, heading up TV and Video efforts. Previously, Baljeet was the Global Head of Education and Family Entertainment at YouTube where he helped to get educational videos into the classroom and laid the foundation for the YouTube Kids app. In this role he was immersed in the EdTech industry and helped to enable unique educational models ranging from Khan Academy to Coursera. Baljeet has a long history building ads products at YouTube, Google, and DoubleClick. In a prior life he was a 4th Grade substitute teacher in Durham, NC. Baljeet holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and a Computer Science degree from the Duke School of Engineering. Baljeet enjoys hip hop and international music, hiking and biking, and preferably sharing those interests with his wife of 10 years, Raveena Rihal and sons Raza (North Class Fox) and Sartaaj. You will see him in the carpool lane every morning dropping off Raza.

Jessica Tomlinson, Parent of 7th Grader and 4th Grader

Jessica Tomlinson serves as Deputy General Counsel at the Public Health Institute, a $100M global nonprofit. In this hybrid legal-business role, she provides timely, solution-oriented advice to executive management and over 100 program directors. Previously, Jessica was an associate at Folger, Levin and Kahn where she represented for-profit and pro bono clients in litigation matters. Jessica currently serves on The San Francisco School’s risk audit committee. Previously, she helped The San Francisco School with the acquisition and implementation of its construction loan. She has also done two tours as room parent. Jessica loves spending time with her wife Jen and her kids - Nico DeZerega (7th Grade), Asa DeZerega (4th Grade) and Henry Taylor (1st Grader - Live Oak).
