Inside SFS

Toni Russell

Preschool/Elementary Physical Education
7th Grade Advisor, Athletics Coach, and Admissions Assistant

A true San Francisco native, born and raised in her hometown, Toni attended Sacred Heart Cathedral (’01) in San Francisco and went on to play basketball on a full scholarship at the University of San Francisco (’05). She received her degree in Psychology and Sociology and continued to follow her passion in basketball as a semi-professional player in California, later playing professionally in Montenegro (Europe).

Toni has been teaching for over 12 years, and is entering her 8th year teaching at SFS, where she has taken on a variety of new roles such as 7th Grade Advisor and assisting in the Admissions Department. She is enthusiastic about learning and growing more professionally. She is committed to making SFS a better place each day and enjoys working alongside inspirational colleagues, students and families.

Toni is passionate about children, sports, family, and traveling. Four years ago she married her best friend and husband Jacob, embraced her step sons JaDen (15 years) and Jorden (13 years) and was blessed to have her son Jacob III (2 years). Both of her stepsons attend Jefferson High School in Daly City.

Her motivation for joining the SFS Board is to help support The San Francisco School live in their mission, learn about our institution from multiple points of view, and to make this a place for all students and families to thrive. She believes that SFS is a magical place made up of so many beautiful people, and is an amazing community to be a part of!
