Jalen is a proud member of The San Francisco School Class of 2008 and was thrilled to return to campus as a teacher.
He earned his bachelors degree in Environmental Studies in 2017 from the University of Hawaii in Manoa. While in school, he served for four years as a Youth Development Specialist for the Boys and Girls Club where he ran summer camps and afterschool programs for elementary students.
After graduating and returning to San Francisco, he was a substitute and Extended Day teacher at SFS for a year, inspiring him to pursue his masters degree and teaching credential. Jalen attended the BATTI (Bay Area Teacher Training Institute) program while interning at SFS in the 2nd and 3rd Grades. Upon completing the BATTI program in spring 2020, he joined SFS as a full time faculty member in Fall 2020.
