I appreciate new opportunities to learn from new students and co-workers.
I have lived in the Portola District since 1986. Prior to coming to SFS, for 17 years, I was a paraeducator for autistic students, working for the San Mateo County Office of Education. During this time, there were good and bad experiences – but I loved every minute of it. I learned a lot about autistic students and their uniqueness, how they see the world, and how the world see them. I have know many of them since they started Kindergarten until their graduation at age 22, and I can’t help but get attached to them as I see them grow and achieve. “My kids” will always have a place in my heart.
I’ve also made lifelong friends with co-workers and teachers–together we’ve participated in the Polar Plunge for the past ten years in a row, and fundraised for our Special Olympics.
I am looking forward to a fresh start at SFS, and I am ready for new opportunities to learn from new students and co-workers.
My bucket list includes seeing every country on the map! I love travel, reading romance books while on vacation, and knitting at night.
