Desiree Roussell
Extended Day Instructor
Being here at SFS makes me wish all schools could model inclusiveness of the beautiful diversity we get to experience on campus everyday.
I was born in Oakland as Desiree Campbell. I was raised all over the Bay Area, one of the most beautiful places in the world to me. That view from the Bay Bridge never gets old, ever. I attended many schools in the East Bay before graduating from Golden Gate Academy to graduate (the senior class trip was to Hawaii!).
I love music. From freshman to senior year of high school, I studied at UC Berkeley as a voice major. I was fortunate to work with local great musicians like Bill Bell, Phil Reeder, and Bishop Walter Hawkins. I then attended Howard University for one semester before moving to Los Angeles where I lived for 30 years working in the music and entertainment industry. I also served my surrounding communities through Ephesus and Spirit of Life Ministries.
I returned to the Bay Area in 2018 when I met my friend and 8th Grade Science Teacher Eugene Stampley who introduced me to SFS. I feel so very fortunate to have this wonderful opportunity to work at SFS with the great Extended Day Program team.
