This summer, The San Francisco School (SFS) proudly welcomed 168 excited children across 29 unique camps. This was the largest enrollment for summer camps at SFS!
From preschool through middle School, students participated in a wide range of creative, active, and enriching experiences. Camp featured six signature themed camps: Campin’ Week, Holiday Hullabaloo, SFS-athon, Week on Wheels, Deep Space, and Slidefest. Each of these camps was specifically designed to spark imagination and build community within our campers.
SFS also launched exciting academic-enrichment camps, including Mathcraft: Minecraft + Math Camp, where students used Redstone engineering, coding basics, and problem-solving to explore STEM subjects in an engaging way. Girls' Math Camp provided a collaborative and empowering environment where students explored mathematical thinking through games, puzzles, and group challenges. The Middle School students had several standout experiences. Some lucky campers attended a Creative Writing Camp led by Head of School Juna McDaid, as well as a Service Learning Day Camp focused on community engagement.
This year, camp included 30 different Middle School Counselors in Training (CITs). Through our CIT program, middle school students get to volunteer to support our camps and enrich our campers' experience through leadership within the classroom.
Field trips added extra excitement across sessions, with visits to the Yerba Buena Ice Rink, Exploratorium, California Academy of Sciences, McLaren Park, and Koret Playground. One camp even explored the city by MUNI and BART, discovering different neighborhoods and learning to navigate public transit with confidence.
Other themed camps included Taylor Swift vs. Olivia Rodrigo Camp, where campers built life-sized guitars, danced, and celebrated their favorite pop icons. Cooking Camp, where campers explored recipes to tantalize every palate. And of course, it's not summer without Riveropolis, an SFS tradition where students get to use their imagination to build an exciting and unique miniature world over a river.
Throughout the summer, students enjoyed daily bounce house time, arts and crafts, tie-dye projects, and plenty of creative play in our Adventure Playground.
Thank you to all of the campers, families, and staff for making summer 2025 a joyful, imaginative, and memorable season at SFS.
