SFS' opening ceremony took on even greater significance as the community kicked off a series of celebrations for SFS' 60th year.
During the Water Ceremony, a simple yet deeply metaphorical tradition, one student per grade level pours a cup of water into the empty glass of the student next to them. This year, alumni joined the ceremony to receive and pass forward the water, further representing the longevity and impact of SFS.
We asked these alumni how SFS has 'filled their cup' and here is what they said:
"SFS filled my cup with a joy for learning and a constant curiosity that I bring to my everyday life." - Karan Gupta '22
"SFS filled my cup with limitless creativity and critical thinking about the world." - Jake Plut '12
"SFS filled my cup with community and lifelong friendships." - Aday Thomas '98
"SFS filled my cup in preschool when it gave me the ability to choose all kinds of exciting activities. All I had to do was be responsible for cleaning up. And, to this day, I like to think I am pretty good at cleaning up." - David Edeli '91
Here's the great 2026-27 school year and another 60 years of SFS!
