I’ve spent nearly two decades in education—as a classroom teacher, an adjunct professor, an instructional coach, and a science curriculum specialist. Most recently, I served as Director of Education at Joshua Tree National Park, where I helped develop and coordinate educational programs. I began my career in education, teaching chess classes all over the San Francisco Bay Area, including at The San Francisco School from 2008 to 2015.
I have a deep passion for making learning joyful, accessible, and engaging. I believe the best way to support this work is through a readiness to learn and relearn—and to approach every interaction with cultural curiosity and humility. I love how our school centers DEIJB in everything we do, from curriculum to culture. The San Francisco School helps foster a community where all people can learn, grow, and thrive.
I hold a master's degree in curriculum & instruction and a doctorate in educational leadership. I believe in the scientific process and know first-hand how important empirical research is in deepening our understanding of the world.I was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and I love everything the Bay Area has to offer. Outside of school, I enjoy playing guitar, tinkering with synthesizers, making art, adventures with my dog, and bringing people together through community events. I also love naps.
