When I first walked through the gates of SFS, I fell in love with the spirit of the place. A sense of wonder, curiosity, and adventure seemed to meet me at every turn. I felt I’d come home.
Before arriving at SFS, I taught elementary and middle school students in the United States and abroad, in both public and private schools. I taught in bilingual elementary settings in the Dominican Republic, Chicago, and Honduras and was an adjunct instructor at Indiana University teaching language arts methodology courses to elementary education majors.
Currently, I serve as a part-time K-4th Grade Learning Specialist at SFS. I taught 2nd grade at The San Francisco School beginning in 2006. After delving in deep to the lower school math curriculum in 2017 when the school vetted and adopted a new curriculum, Contexts for Learning Mathematics, I transitioned to being the Lower School Math Coordinator and 2nd and 3rd Grade Math Teacher the following year. I took a brief hiatus in 2021 and returned to SFS part-time as a Learning Specialist in 2024.
When I am not at SFS, I work as an educational consultant for Contexts for Learning Mathematics and have my own practice as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
