As a native of San Francisco, born and raised in this remarkable city, my connection to the community runs deep. My academic journey began at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, and I subsequently pursued higher education at the University of San Francisco, where I earned a degree in Psychology and Sociology. I was fortunate to receive a full athletic scholarship in basketball at the University of San Francisco, an opportunity that significantly shaped my early experiences.
Following my graduation, I dedicated my time to working with inner-city youth at Booker T. Washington Community Center's after-school program. This experience led to my discovery of a passion for teaching Physical Education within the public school system, at both Claire Lilienthal Elementary and Sutro Elementary. Growing up with three brothers in a family that shared a love for sports, my enthusiasm for athletics developed early in life. I was privileged to fulfill a childhood aspiration by playing professional basketball in Montenegro. Upon my return, I furthered my education at Skyline College, where I obtained a certificate in Early Childhood Education. My involvement in basketball extended to coaching at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.
My association with SFS commenced as a substitute teacher for two years. When the position for Preschool & Elementary Health & Wellness became available, I eagerly applied. SFS has consistently fostered my professional growth as a lifelong learner. Throughout my tenure, I have undertaken various roles, including interim Athletic Director, Middle School Advisor, and Extended Day Instructor, as well as actively participating in committees and serving on the Board of Trustees. Currently, I hold the position of Director of Enrollment Management, and I am now a proud parent of a student here at SFS.
