I was drawn to the humanitarian promise that is into the mission of SFS. I look forward to being a part of the vibrant community that inspires and empowers students to be agents of positive social change.
I grew up in Austin, TX in the house of a college professor and a college administrator. As the youngest of four children I left Austin for the Pacific Northwest where I pursued a BA in Anthropology from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma and an MA in Communications from the University of Washington. After college I taught at a Spanish Immersion preschool and at the Learning Garden Montessori Preschool in Seattle. I am currently a student at SF State getting a MA in Early Childhood Education focusing on inquiry and curriculum in early learning.
When not in the classroom I am exploring new restaurants, reading, or painting. I spend a lot of time with friends and my border collie Lucy or exploring the diverse cultures and landscapes of California.
