Community Center

The Steve Morris Community Center gives us a place where our community can come together.

It is where we cheer on our sports teams, enjoy music and drama performances, and share the celebrations that help make our school so special—from the Opening Day ceremony on the first day of school to 8th Grade graduation in June, with so much in between! Featuring a 4,100 sq ft space that is both a 350-seat theater with sound and lighting and a full-size gymnasium, the Community Center opened in 2013 as a result of a successful $5 million philanthropic campaign, Community at the Center, and a coordinated effort by students, alumni, families, and staff to complete.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony on August 28 kicked off the 2013-2014 school year after which the Community Center became an integral part of campus. In the Spring 2023, anonymous donors elected to name the theater/gymnasium in honor of Steve Morris, the fourth SFS Head of School (2008-2023). The result of his vision, leadership, and tireless efforts to solicit the support of all SFS constituents, the Community Center is the heart of campus, bringing all students, teachers, administrators, and families together for ceremonies, athletic competitions, performances, and celebrations. It transformed the space and strengthened the connections of the people and program within the Gaven St. gates.
