“Every kid in 3rd Grade is a student and a teacher.” —3rd Grade Student
Third Graders at The San Francisco School:
- Visit parks with different ecosystems of the Bay Area including an overnight trip to the Marin Headlands.
- Hear from Ohlone people about cultural traditions and concerns. Write imaginatively and persuasively about topics related to Bay Area indigenous peoples.
- Read stories that take place in the places where we live whether it’s a contemporary setting about redwood forests or a mythological one about snakes in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Whether building models about multiplication, reading Ohlone creation myths, or performing a musical, 3rd Graders are immersed in ways to show their growing understanding throughout the year.
